Formed in Georgia in 1986, by students John Bell and Michael Houser whilst sharing a dorm at the University of Georgia, Widespread Panic is currently composed of frontman John Bell, guitarist Jimmy Herring, bassist Dave Schools, drummer Duane Trucks, percussionist Domingo "Sunny" Ortiz and keyboardist John "JoJo" Hermann.

After beginning to tour on the local live scene, Widespread Panic caught the attention of the major label Capricorn Records, and the band released their first, self-titled album in 1991. The album was warmly received by music critics, and the band toured extensively to promote it, gaining them a huge worldwide fanbase!

Over time, Widespread Panic have come to be regarded as one of the great jam bands alongside acts such as Phish and the Grateful Dead. Drawing influences from a diverse range of genres including blues-rock, funk, and hard rock, Widespread Panic’s live shows – never the same twice – are a truly unique experience.
