The success of (Pronounced 'Leh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) became a pivotal moment of the band’s career as they moved on to releasing 13 more studio albums, including their 1974 massively successful effort, Second Helping, which featured their most phenomenal hit, “Sweet Home Alabama.” The band has sold over 28 million albums in the U.S. and has become one of the most influential purveyors of American Southern rock.

The band’s exemplary work earned them a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside other rock legends. They were inducted in 2006 with original members Ronnie Van Zant, Garry Rossington, Bon Burns, and other vital members Ed King, Steve Gaines, Billy Powell, Leon Wilkeson, and Artimus Pyle.
