Jose Feliciano is known best for his international hits including his rendition of The Doors' "Light My Fire" and the best-selling Christmas single "Feliz Navidad." Jose Feliciano in in Lares, Puerto Rico, as a victim of congenital glaucoma from birth, Jose was left permanently blind. At just five years old, he and his family moved to New York City's Spanish Harlem area; where he begun to learn the ambitious instrument, the accordion, after time he also started to learn the acoustic guitar and made his first live appearance at the Bronx's El Teatro Puerto Rico at the unbelievable age of nine. It was very clear early on that Jose Feliciano had incredible talents! In the late 1960's he produced a breakthrough hit with a soulful rendition of "Light My Fire" by The Doors, the track rocketed him the mainstream pop stratosphere along with his version of The Mamas And The Papas – California Dreamin'. Within a few years, Feliciano found himself performing the national anthem during the 1968 World Series.
