Get ready for an unforgettable musical experience as Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and musician Billy Strings sets the stage ablaze in St. Augustine! He’s kicking off a captivating three-night stint at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre from Friday, April 19, to Sunday, April 21, 2024 as part of his 2024 Spring headlining tour. Strings, a three-time nominee at the upcoming 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards, is geared up to deliver an exhilarating performance, featuring hits from his acclaimed album "Me/And/Dad."
About his style, he recently spoke with GRAMMY.COM and shared insights on his musical background. He said: “Well, I was raised playing bluegrass music — pretty traditional bluegrass. And then in my teenage years, I veered off and played heavy metal and got into more writing songs and just lots of different music other than bluegrass. But when I came back to bluegrass, some of those things kind of stuck, particularly the stage performance thing. A lot of bluegrass bands, I feel like just stand there and play, 'cause they don't really have to do anything else. I can't help but move around and jump around and bang my head and stuff like I used to in a heavy metal band, 'cause that's how I learned to perform.”
Recently, Strings treated fans to a 38-minute live performance titled "Meet Me At The Creek, Pyramid Country, Must Be Seven, Meet Me At The Creek (Live at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Winston-Salem, NC 3/4/23)," offering a glimpse into the dynamic energy that defines his live concerts.
Strings' latest album, "Me/And/Dad," a collaborative effort with his father Terry Barber, has garnered widespread acclaim. The Nashville-based artist, originally from Michigan, has earned accolades such as Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards and Artist of the Year at the 2023 and 2022 Americana Music Awards.
Notably, he also joined forces with Willie Nelson last year for their collaborative single “California Sober” - a track that earned them Song of the Week honors.
