ABOUT TROMBONE SHORTY

Troy Andrews, a.k.a. Trombone Shorty is a trombone prodigy from New Orleans. He performs a myriad of music styles, including jazz, funk, soul, and R&B. He grew up joining music groups including the second line parades and Stooges Brass Brand. He eventually performed at the New Orleans Jazz Parade Festival. In 2002, Andrews released Trombone Shorty’s Swingin Gate. Three years later, he would lead two efforts The End of the Beginning and Orleans and Clairbone. Andrews would eventually spearhead eight studio efforts and three live albums. He has also played and recorded music alongside notable artists including Ringgo Star, Dierks Bentley, The Fray’s Joseph Aaron King, Cee Lo Green, Zac Brown Band, and the list goes on. In 2002, Andrews won his first Grammy for his work in Jon Batiste’s album We Are.
