People are calling this a triple duty for monumental rock bassist Les Claypool. For the first time in history, Claypool brings his bands together in one outstanding tour. Claypool Gold features his main band Primus, followed by his projects Les Claypool's Frog Brigade and The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Together, these acts have a lot to celebrate. First off, Primus just is nearing their four decades in music. The act that has been around since 1984 had a three year hiatus from 2000 to 2003. Since then, they continued to deliver their genre defying tunes across the globe. Meanwhile, Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade continue to give jam band persona on the big stage with terrific music techniques. Lastly, The Claypool Lennon Delirium recently released their new single, “WAP.” Witness their soul satisfying performance when you check them out at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is a fine 4,700 capacity space known for its terrific accommodations and top quality sound and lights technology. This fine amphitheater has plenty of food and drink offerings, excellent restrooms, and top tier service. Originally built for a specific show Cross and Sword in 1965, the venue has now become an icon in global entertainment. Enjoy great customer service, excellent accessibility, and smooth entry and exit process when you check out Claypool Gold at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Launched in 1984, Primus was founded by Les Claypool but rose to prominence in the 90s with guitarist Larry Lalonde. They also recently brought in new drummer John Hoffman, who joined them in 2025. Primus’ path to stardom began with the release of their 1991 album Sailing the Seas of the Cheese, which spawned the iconic hit, “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver.” Primus dropped several more illustrious titles including “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver,” “My Name is Mud,” and tons more.
When Primus went on a hiatus in 2000, Claypool founded Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade, a band that closely resembles what many jam bands are performing. A cross between Frank zappa and Pink Floyd is what best describes the side project. The band attracted many fans, including Deadheads. Moreover, the band’s line up is a staggering list of names of the jam circuit’s most talented artists, including former Primus member Todd Huth, renowned musician and guitarist Sean Lennon, longtime Bob Weir collaborator Jay Lane, acclaimed keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, and trailblazing saxophonist Skerik.
Les Claypool and Sean Lennon started a musical partnership in 2015 and released their debut album Monolith of Phobos a year later. They followed this impressive work with South of Reality in 2019. In 20256, they released their latest single, “WAP.”
