The band from London, England rose to prominence in the 80s with the release of their groundbreaking hit single, “Take Me I’m Yours.” The song was spawned from Squeeze’s self titled debut album. Gaining much traction in the UK, the band achieved total stardom with their follow up release, Cool For Cats, spawning the title track that became an absolute global hit. For decades, Squeeze conquered the UK charts and made impressive breakthroughs in the US.
English singer-songwriter Adam Ant is most famous for his number 1 hits, “Stand and Deliver,” “Prince Charming,” and “Goody Two Shoes.” The latter also made a breakthrough in the Billboard Hot 100, landing at a cool number 16. Adam Ant has done exemplary work as part of the band Adam and the Ants in the 70s and 80s but he pursued his solo work staring from 1982 with Friend or Foe.
British New wave group Haircut 100 made great strides with hits like “Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl),” “Love Plus One,” and “Nobody’s Fool.” The band broke into the US chart in 1982 with their debut album Pelican West, while its featured single, “Love Plus One,” entered the Billboard Hot 100.
